I wanted to kind of reassert my purpose as mediator/runner/whatever of this blog. So, um, here:
- Sex positivity, as the blog description reads: “Everything and anything can be sex positive. Sex positivity is about a state of mind, not what you do in bed—a fundamental acceptance of what other people do, even if it isn’t for you, without an extra scoop of judgment on top.” - Sinclair Sexsmith
- Body Positivity. To change the way we view our bodies. To make loving yourself the way you feel most healthy and happy the norm.
- HAES. To absolutely never assume someone’s mental or physical health based on appearance. To be an ally for fat people while remaining sensitive to the fact that I have thin privilege.
- Learning. To teach myself about feminism, gender, equality, my rights, human rights, the injustices of this world and what I can do to change them. I have never formally studied anything to do with the topics I blog about.
- To emphasize the beauty and strength in humans. Especially women, because we have for too long been pushed into nothingness, worthlessness, and lesser-than. I won’t let it be. I will more than not let it be, I will change it.
- To be an ally to all LBGTQA people, openly and clearly and with pride.
- Self-discovery. To explore my sexuality, gender identity, and beliefs in a safe, somewhat controlled and kind environment. I’ve actually been struggling recently with how I view my gender and body. I love my body and cunt and breast but I struggle with my self-obligation to be more traditionally beautiful, and what I really want from that.
- To share my passion, and to help people where and when I can.
- To facilitate discussion in a healthy, helpful, and constructive way.
Lately it seems like my personal blog and this one have been intersecting more and more. I have shared with more and more internet and IRL friends more about sexisbeautiful. I am proud of it, and refuse to accept shame and hide my sexuality. But I want to make sure I know why. The reason I sometimes share personal pictures or stories (albeit in very limited amounts) on this blog is because I want to put a person behind this. I want this blog to be an environment just like the many that inspire and spur me forward on tumblr. But I don’t want to lose myself in the process.
